Proud to entertain the president

To the Editor:

I am proud to have my president visit my community.

I have seen in the online Comment section of this newspaper that not everyone is happy about it.

So, here’s what I have to say to them. You Republicans can continue to deny the fact that all the catastrophes you said he would cause have not happened.

Is the economy better today than when he come into office? Do we have Sharia law? Is Bin Laden dead? How are we doing on getting out of former President Bush’s wars? Did he take away all the guns? Is the price of gas over $10? What company sells the most automobiles in the world? (Hint – its initials are GM)

Is the dollar stronger? I’ll answer that for you. A euro was worth $1.51 on election day 2008 — it’s now worth $1.30. He even produced a long form birth certificate.

All the republican doomsday predictions were wrong, wrong, and wrong again.

We have even eliminated the worst traffic jam on the Island — all because of Obama of course. And people living in our free society can own guns and even marry people they love.

To the radical Republicans out there, quit your incessant whining and fear-mongering. Give the respect to the man that his office deserves.

You expected it out of the liberals when a Republican president was conducting wholesale bombing raids of Middle Eastern cities while destroying our economy, as well as the environment, so a few of his cronies could get rich. Yes, I am talking about Halliburton.

Mr. Obama was really elected by a solid majority of the voting electorate. He is the president of the United States. He really has done a heck of a job, and he is coming to our Island. Get over it.
