The Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School boys baseball team won the Westwood High School Russell E. Downes Baseball Tournament Thursday in thrilling fashion with a 3-2 walk-off win over Norwell.

Jonas Lukowitz hit a bases loaded single in the bottom of the eighth inning to give MV its first ever championship trophy in the tournament. Tucker McNeely was one out away from throwing a complete game no hitter for MV, however a walk, a miss played fly ball and the first hit of the game tied things up 2-2 in the seventh. James Sashin came in and ended the threat and pitched a scoreless eighth to pick up the victory for MV.
MV scored earlier on RBIs from Elias Fhagen-Smith and Emerson Mahoney which gave MV the 2-0 lead into the seventh.

The Vineyard paved the way to victory with a thrilling 2-1 victory over Boston Latin Academy Wednesday afternoon on the first day of the tournament.
