MV United (MVU) had 10 teams in action on a busy weekend of play on the pitch.

The U14 Girls blanked Fall River United, 2-0, in a superb team effort. Marina Nunes and Hannah Best scored the Vineyard goals. Beckett Wadleigh earned the clean sheet in net. Midfielder Alexa Pil created multiple scoring opportunities, while the MVU backline was airtight.

Seekonk defeated the U12 Division Girls, 2-0, and Dighton-Rehoboth topped the U12 Division 2 Girls, 4-1.

Nevin Wallis and Nick Bonneau tallied in the opening 10 minutes and Gabriel Nascimento added a third goal with five minutes left to lift the U18 Boys to a 3-0 win over Oceana of Orleans.

In a physical match on their home pitch in Fairhaven, Mariner handed the U16 Boys their first loss of the young season, 3-2. The hosts racked up three yellow cards, while the Vineyard side kept its cool and battled to the end. Chris Da Silva and Morgan Estrella scored for MVU, and JoJo Bonneau was stellar in the defensive end.

The U13 Boys notched a huge 2-1 win over Barnstable on Saturday. MVU fielded sixth graders against a Barnstable team dominated by seventh graders. Luke Yuhas and Nolan Carriero scored the goals, and Lucas Cacique picked up an assist. Nick Rego excelled in goal.

Rounding out the results, the U11 Boys edged Sandwich, 4-3; the U12 Boys shut out Westport United, 2-0; the U14 Boys and Westport played to a 1-1 draw; and the U10 Boys came up short in a goalfest with Yarmouth-Dennis, 6-4.
