Keyshawn Devine is on the mend, according to his mother, Heather Devine, who described him as a “fighter and growing stronger every day.”

The 9-year-old boy was run over by a pickup truck on July 14 and was trapped underneath the vehicle. In a message to The Times, Devine said her son miraculously has no serious internal injuries. He did suffer fractures, lacerations, and abrasions, she wrote. Keyshawn will undergo tendon surgery on July 27.

“We are praying and hopeful he will be home next Wednesday,” she wrote.

Devine thanked folks for their “prayers, love, support, donations, phone calls, texts, and messages on Facebook.”

A GoFundMe page has raised nearly $60,000 to help the Devine family with medical expenses.

Devine thanked “God and his angels” for looking over Keyshawn during the accident.

“Please keep your prayers going for my strong boy Keyshawn during the rest of his recovery,” she wrote.
