Mildred (Welch) Scott, 91, of Oak Bluffs, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2026, at Martha’s Vineyard Hospital.
She was born in Oak Bluffs, met Robert Scott at a young age. They married when he returned from the war. He was the love of her life. They lived in Oak Bluffs, where they raised their children and ran their business, Scotty’s TV. Bob and Tom worked together while she helped out at home. Bob passed away in March of 2011, and her life was never the same.
She enjoyed bingo and traveling to Foxwoods with friends. In the 70s she worked at the Kelly House in Edgartown, where she met so many members of the “Jaws” crew.
After Bob passed, she moved to Woodside Village, where she lived for many years; she had recently moved to Navigator Homes after a fall.
Her biggest and most special time was taking care of her grandchildren, and then her great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Michael Scott of Newport, R.I., and Tom Scott (Debra) of Edgartown; and her daughter, Sally Scott of Vineyard Haven; her grandsons, Brian (Elsie), Chris (Kelly), and Tim (Lauren); her great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Alina (Brian), Henry, and Brody (Chris); and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a service for her in the fall.
