Last month, Curves, located at the Woodland Center in Vineyard Haven, collected non-perishable items and money for the Island Food Pantry. The goal, according to Bethany Seidman, owner of the Martha’s Vineyard club, was for the community to come together to help families in need. Ms. Seidman said members who donated 30 pounds of groceries or made a minimum donation of $30 during the month received a reusable Curves grocery freezer bag as a gift Non-members who donated a bag of groceries or $30 were able to join Curves at no charge.
Ms. Seidman said last month’s drive was the most successful ever, with more than 700 pounds of food and $160 donated. “It was a win-win situation for everyone,” she said.
