Local gymnasts from Island Gymnastics Training School (IGTS) of West Tisbury placed first overall in the 24th annual Sandcastle Meet, held April 12 at the IGTS gym on State Road. The Islanders competed against their sister gym, New England Sports Academy of Westwood.
McKenzie Condon (Gold Division), Isabelle Murphy (Silver Division), and Avery Simmons (Bronze Division) all earned first place overall honors. The Island gymnasts were coached by Beth Goodell and Jaime Conroy.

Bronze Child Division
Molly Crawford (3rd place overall), beam 8.9 (1st), vault 8.8 (1st); Arianna Edelman (2nd overall) vault 8.6 (2nd), beam 9.1; Caroline Conover (4th overall), bars 8.7 (2nd), beam 8.7; Emily Boyd, beam 9.15 (2nd); Ashley Silvia, beam 8.7.
Bronze Junior Division
Annabel Eddy (2nd overall), beam 9.1 (1st), bars 9.0 (1st); Ava McGee, floor 8.2 (2nd); Hannah Murphy, beam 8.2.
Bronze Intermediate Division
Wadelene Hall, vault 9.0 (3rd).
Bronze Senior Division
Avery Simmons (1st place, all-around trophy), vault 9.6 (1st); Michaela Benefit (4th overall), vault 8.9 (4th).
Silver Division
Isabelle Murphy (1st place, all-around trophy), vault 9.7 (1st); Mya Lee O’Neil (2nd overall), vault 9.6 (2nd); Taybor Estrella (3rd overall), vault 9.4 (3rd); Kasey Varkonda (4th overall), bars 8.5 (1st), beam (3rd).
