Wine and dine this weekend at the Martha’s Vineyard Food and Wine Festival

Now in its seventh year, the Martha’s Vineyard Food & Wine Festival (MVFWF), hosted by the Edgartown Board of Trade, has quickly grown into a popular wine and culinary extravaganza signature fall event for the town of Edgartown. Praised as one of the “2013 Top 10 Festivals to Taste” by Forbes Travel Guide, the eventl features wine tasting seminars, premium wines, cooking demonstrations by nationally recognized award-winning chefs and wine personalities, culinary dinners, and the Grand Tasting. MVFWF is uniquely educational in focus, showcasing the Vineyard’s culinary talent. The festival begins with “Fresh off the Farm,” a dine-around event featuring “everything Martha’s Vineyard” at the Ag Hall from 7 to 9 pm on Thursday, October 16 ($50).  Saturday’s Grand Tasting, from 1 to 5 pm at the Grand Tent on Mayhew Lane in Edgartownl features wines, celebrity chefs, and cooking demos paired with wines ($125). The festival culminates on Sunday at the culinary Grand Sunday Brunch held at the Harbor View Hotel from 10 am to 2 pm ($60). Other events include chefs’ seminars and demos, gourmet wine dinners, and a Friday after party.

A three-day “Gold Pass” to the Festival for $325 offers admission to “Fresh Off the Farm,” admission to “The After Party,” VIP access to the Grand Tasting, exclusive wines, demos, and other perks.
