Madison Hughes of Oak Bluffs, Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School class of 2013, was named to the Northeast Conference all second team for her excellent season on the Central Connecticut State University women’s lacrosse team.

Central Connecticut ended the season with a 6-0 overall record and a 3-4 mark in NEC play, good for a tie for fourth place. The Blue Devils lost out on the tiebreaker and missed the tournament, despite wins in the final week over two NEC Tournament participants, Mount St. Mary’s and Wagner.

On April 28, Madison, a junior, was one of three Central Connecticut players named to the NEC Second Team. She is an All-Conference pick for the second straight season. She was selected for the first team as a sophomore. In 2015 she led the team with 24 goals scored and 30 total points on the season. She was the team leader in ground balls (35), third in draw controls (29), first in caused turnovers (22), and started all 16 games on the season.
