The National Wrestling Hall of Fame, Massachusetts Chapter, has named Kevin Cummings, son of Anne and John Cummings of Oak Bluffs, the 2015 Division 2 Wrestling Coach of the Year, and the 2015 Massachusetts Coach of the Year.
Mr. Cummings, a physical education teacher in the Arlington schools, has been the wrestling coach for 19 years. During that time, the wrestling program has grown to become a real force in Division 2 state wrestling meets, each year achieving a stronger statewide position, according to a press release.
Coach Cummings is married to Susan Pendleton Cummings, a teacher in the Burlington elementary schools. They have two sons, Max and Kyle, and live in Tewksbury. They summer on the Island, where Coach Cummings has worked for years at Anderson’s Bike Rental in Oak Bluffs.
