Next week sees the final concert of the Martha’s Vineyard Chamber Music Society’s (MVCMS) summer festival, as well as another intimate evening of Livingston Taylor and Chelsea Berry. Both shows will take place inside Edgartown’s Old Whaling Church.
On Monday, August 17, at 8 pm, Franklin Cohen, principal clarinet of the Cleveland Orchestra for nearly three decades, will lead an outstanding trio program ranging from Schubert to Stravinsky as the series finale to the MVCMS 45th consecutive summer concert season. Mr. Cohen will be joined by member of the awardwinning Terzetto Trio
and violinist Diana Cohen, Israeli pianist Roman Rabinovich, and MVCMS pianist and artistic director Delores Stevens. Admission to the concert is $35 for adults ($30 with Island Club Card), and students attend all concerts for free. For additional information, visit mvcms.org.
On Friday, August 21, at 7:30 pm, treat yourself to a night of music with Livingston Taylor and Chelsea Berry. Mr. Taylor brings his folk, pop, gospel, and jazz-infused sounds back to the Island. Singer and songwriter Ms. Berry joins him with her incredible edge, power, and finesse. Tickets are $35, $55 for VIPs, and can be purchased at ticketsmv.com/liv.
