Runners and walkers are encouraged to participate in the 5K for KJ road race sponsored by the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School cross-country team to benefit the Kevin Johnson Memorial Cross Country Scholarship Fund. The race begins at 10 am, Saturday, Nov. 28, on the high school track, and winds through the state forest along the cross-country course.

Kevin Johnson was a student athlete and member of the track team who died in a tragic automobile accident in 2004.

The race is open to all participants. Registration is available online at Active.com through Nov. 27, and from 8 am to 9:30 am on the day of the race in the high school cafeteria. The cost is $20 ($25 day of the race) and includes a T shirt. There is a discounted rate of $60 for a family (up to four people).
