In week two action, the girls eighth grade team fell to undefeated Falmouth 46-20. Bella Arias led the Vineyard with 9 points. Game 2 against Fairhaven was postponed.

The boys eighth grade team beat Plymouth South 52-32 behind a strong team effort on the defensive end, led by Adam Knight and Jack Holmes. Jeremy Regan led the Vineyard with 14 points, while Aiden Araujo chipped in with 11. In Game 2, the Vineyard lost an exciting back-and-forth battle with Barnstable 59-57. Jared and Jeremy Regan combined for 35 Vineyard points.

The boys seventh grade team improved to a record of 3-1 with victories over Lakeville, 43-42, and South Plymouth, 42-39. Aiden Rogers led the Vineyard with eight points against Lakeville, while Ramon Dossantos tossed in 27 against South Plymouth. Michael Trusty and Keaton Aliberti led the defensive effort.

The boys sixth grade team improved to 4-0 with a 51-28 victory over Nantucket and a tight 36-34 win over Barnstable. Jayden and Jordan Coyle manned the boards, while Kamel Timmons and Nico Arroyo contributed with all-around good games.

The boys fifth grade team dropped both of their games to the taller teams from Dennis Yarmouth and Silver Lake. Nate Story did a nice job of ball handling and running a disciplined Vineyard offense against the more experienced counterparts.

Next up, the eighth grade boys and the sixth grade boys will be home (Oak Bluffs School gym) on Saturday Dec. 19, beginning at 10:15 am.
