MV Community Services will host an Easter Egg Hunt at 10 am this Saturday to celebrate Island veterans. The egg hunt, with arts and crafts, music and snacks, is free. Island veterans who want an Island discount card can visit MCVS (Building B) between 10 and 1 weekdays or call 508-693-2900 x223. Veterans need to verify veteran status with photo ID and form DD-214.
On Easter Sunday morning you can join members of the First Baptist Church for the early service at Eastville Beach at 9:15, followed by a continental breakfast at 9:45 in the Parish House. There will also be an Alleluia service at 11 am in the First Baptist Church.
The First Congregational Church of West Tisbury invites all to the traditional Easter Service at 9 am with communion in the church or the 11 am Community Easter Service at the Ag Hall, with child care. That service will be followed by the Easter Egg Hunt. Coffee will be served. You are also welcome to the Tenebrae Service this evening at 7:30 pm.
If you enjoy concerts by members of the MV Chamber Music Society, you should know they have purchased 20 new violins and violas. The Society lends elementary school string players violins and violas, and the occasional cello, that are 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 normal size; they can graduate to larger sizes as they grow. They now have 40 instruments for this purpose. Note that their Spring and Summer Festival Concert tickets are now available at www.ticketsmv.com.
Vintage Voices will entertain next Tuesday at 1:30 pm at the Tisbury Senior Center. The program is “An Afternoon of Dreadful Music: Silly Songs & Maladie” presented by Nancy Blank, Martha Child, Betsy Gately, Dorian Lopes, Carol Loud, Mary-Jean Miner, Lorraine St. Pierre, with Phil Dietterich as music director. They have their own brass band and sound effects. Look for special guests such as the Princess PooPooly Ukulele Band. Songs include many old hits that you wish you could forget, just the thing for the end of March.

The Senior Center Bowling Team has fun. The monthly face-offs with the Edgartown Center continue in April. Teams are open to town residents. Ken Beebe won the Tisbury March round. If you’ve never bowled, he’s an excellent coach. Register at the Tisbury Senior Center.
