MVironment Club wins top honors

The students of the MVRHS MVironment club have been recognized for their hard work and success by three awards. According to a press release, the awards include the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow Contest for supporting STEAM in their community; and the NEED Award for excellence in energy education and the SAGEE Award for excellence in environmental education from the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA), in collaboration with the Secretary’s Advisory Group on Energy and Environmental Education (SAGEE).

The MVironment club was named a Massachusetts Senior School of the Year (for the third year in a row), and chosen, for the first time, at the national level as the top Outstanding Energy Engineering and Design Project by the National Energy Education Development Project’s Youth Leadership Awards program in Washington, D.C. It meant that the MVironment club project was the strongest high-school-level project in the state. It also meant that nationwide, their project was the strongest high-school-level engineering project, which was a specialty award that the organization gave.
