Coffee, chocolate, and geography

The Vineyard Haven library hosts a presentation by James Hayes-Bohanan, professor of geography and coffee maven at Bridgewater State University, on Coffee, Chocolate, and Geographies of Resilience. The talk takes place on Sunday, Feb. 2, at 2 pm.

According to a press release, Hayes-Bohanan will address the questions, What do coffee and chocolate have to do with geography, and how can either one lead to greater resilience? He’ll use his experience with his travel courses in coffee lands and his relationships with farmers, roasters, and baristas to tell the story from seed to cup. Mocha Mott’s will provide coffee, and there will be a raffle for fair trade chocolate bars.
