We’ve Been Out and About This Summer
It was nice to see so many people at the M.V. Diversity Coalition’s Truth & Joy event and the Affordable Internet Appointment Day at Woodside Island Elderly Housing.
Look for Healthy Aging Martha’s Vineyard (HAMV) at the Tisbury Council on Aging Health Fair on August 31, 2 to 4 pm, where we’ll be talking about the highly popular Matter of Balance Falls Prevention class and other services for older adults.
HAMV is turning 10
Back in 2013, Paddy Moore and a group of Island leaders mobilized the community to become aging-friendly, forming Healthy Aging Martha’s Vineyard (HAMV). Fast forward to 2023 with Martha’s Vineyard now an AARP-recognized age-friendly community. To celebrate 10 years of advocating for older adults, HAMV is planting trees in October, convening a summit in November, and embarking on an end-of-year appeal. Mark your calendar and stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks.
