It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Lillian Anderson on June 25, 2026, at home in Edgartown, at the age of 80, surrounded by love.
Lillian was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. She had a lifelong love of rare books, art, and nature, and found joy in collecting treasures, and spending time with the animals she cared so deeply about. She will be remembered for her strength, her creativity, and the many lives she touched throughout her life.
A memorial celebration of Lillian’s life will be held in September on Martha’s Vineyard. In honor of her love for animals, an auction of her original paintings will be held during the gathering, with proceeds benefiting a local animal rescue organization.
