Vivian Helene Henn, 70, of Union Beach, N.J., an annual vacationer on Martha’s Vineyard, passed away peacefully at home on Sept. 18, 2026.

Born in Red Bank, N.J., on August 28, 1956, Vivian was raised in Union Beach, and lived in the borough nearly all of her life. She attended Keyport High School, where she met George, her husband of nearly 52 years. She spent her entire 50-plus year career as a versatile, valuable and well-liked employee at A&P and later Acme supermarket, working in various positions on the floor of the store and also as a receiving clerk, bookkeeper, and secretary.

Vivian was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. In her free time, she enjoyed vacations with George — and quite often, their children and grandchildren — at her home away from home, the Vineyard, which she visited every year of her life, staying for parts of the summer at the Oak Bluffs cottage her family built in the early 1900s. She also enjoyed trips to the coasts of Florida; tending her garden; donating to numerous charities and humanitarian organizations; cooking for holidays and family gatherings, memorably serving up a delicious Irish dinner every St. Patrick’s Day that included her famous soda bread; and most of all, showing up for and supporting her family in every way imaginable — especially her five granddaughters, who could always count on Mimi/Grammie cheering on their every achievement.

Predeceased by her parents, David and Margaret Marshall, she is survived by her beloved husband, George; her loving children, George Henn and wife Nicole of Keyport, and Stephanie Vessie and husband Robert of Clinton Township, N.J.; cherished granddaughters, Lyla, Ava, Brooke, Lucy, and Anastasia; siblings Gary Marshall (Cindi) and Barbara Reilly; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Vivian’s name may be sent to the Joan Dancy & pALS Foundation, Hackensack Meridian Health Riverview Medical Center, 1 Riverview Plaza, P.O. Box 8157, Red Bank, NJ 07701, or online at joandancyandpals.org.
