It's the typeface
To the Editor:
The new typeface of the MV Times is just awful. Pairing the sans-serif headlines with the traditional text is bad enough, but look at the italic headlines. Looks like someone just got a desktop publishing program.
I also don't like the overall pastel look of the front page; looks to me like an old newspaper that sat in the sun for a week.
Is this criticism mean? I'm sorry, if so. I'm very aware of print and graphic design and can't stand to see this amateurish stuff.
