Corrections
A news brief published August 16, "Verizon proposes cell tower on private West Tisbury property," reported that West Tisbury withdrew from a joint plan with Chilmark and Aquinnah to contract with American Tower Corporation (ATC) to create a distributed antennae system (DAS). Ultimately, West Tisbury and ATC disagreed over permitting requirements, and unable to resolve the issue, ATC and the two up-Island towns moved forward. West Tisbury withdrew.
Also, the brief incorrectly identified Robert Doane as a resident of Maine. Mr. Doane winters in Maine, but he is a resident of West Tisbury.
A story published August 16, "Cape Poge homeowner discovers a link to the past," incorrectly reported that Mr. Charles Simpson was from New Bedford. He was every bit an Edgartown man.
