Hats off to the Clarion Inn
To the Editor:
The Cape Cod and Islands Chapter of the American Red Cross would like to thank Jim Carter, manager of the Clarion Inn, for providing housing to our disaster instructor. Red Cross recently offered a series of classes through ACE MV, free of charge to the public, to become certified disaster services volunteers. Mr. Carter graciously provided the room for our trainer from Hyannis during the week of classes.
The Clarion Inn's support made it possible to certify nine new disaster volunteers. Without the support of local businesses, donors, and volunteers, the Red Cross, which receives no government funding, would not be able to provide our emergency services to Island residents and visitors year-round.
