Geneveive Montanile
Genevieve Montanile, 80, of Tampa, Florida , formerly of Westchester and Rockland Counties, New York, and Martha's Vineyard died peacefully on Tuesday, January 15, after a long illness.
Born Genevieve Alberta Forrester on January 10, 1932, the second child of Mark Forrester and Frances (Melville) Forrester. She married Matthew Montanile in 1954 and together they had four children.
Gen, as she was affectionately called, will be best remembered for her love of all animals, especially dogs, cats, and horses. During her life she shared her home with many of "God's creatures."
Gen was predeceased by her brother Charles and beloved niece Barbara Forrester. Gen is survived by her son Edgar of Tampa and his wife, Maria, and their children, Mark and Holly; her son Matthew of Vineyard Haven and his wife, Inez, and their children, Matthew, Kimberly, and Michael; her daughter Emily of Cocoa Beach and her husband, James, and her daughter, Jacqueline; and her son Joseph of Hartsdale and his wife, Leslie, and their son, Alex.
After a memorial service in Cocoa Beach, she will be laid to rest in Gates of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla, New York.
