Boys win and girls lose cross-country races with Somerset

The MVRHS boys cross-country team bested Somerset on the Raiders’ 5K course, Monday, 20-35.

Somerset’s Russell McGinnis finished first in 17:29 but the next five runners to reach the finish line wore purple and white: Willie Nevin at 17:46, Michael Schroeder at 18:2, Cooper Chapman at 18:48, Kyle Joba-Woodruff at 18:58, and Jobe DeForest at 19:04.

It was the fifth win without a loss for the Islanders. They are 3-0 in the EAC.

MV Girls come in second

Also Monday, Somerset’s Kelsey McGinnis was the first to complete the run in 20:29, followed by Islanders Shivonne Schofield in 21:22 and Lily Neville in 21:26. Raiders filled the 4-6 slots. Eva Balboni was 7th at 22:28. The Vineyarders record is 3-2, 1-2 in the EAC.

Unbeaten Bishop Feehan visits

The Bishop Feehan cross-country teams, boys (8-3) and girls (9-0), came to call yesterday. Both are unbeaten (3-0) in the Eastern Athletic Conference.
