Worn out their welcome

To the Editor:

As a seasonal resident of Aquinnah, I was not at all pleased with the chain of events that took place at Gay Head this past weekend. The radio club out of Fall River paid their annual visit to the field at Gay Head.

It became clear that more than the usual police presence was necessary this year in order to keep peace. The patrol car spent many hours near the lighthouse watching over attendees.

This patrol time could be better spent watching over residential property. My home has been broken into several times. I think this group has worn out the welcome mat and should move on. I hope no use permit is given to the Fall River group next year.
