The Interscholastic volleyball season opened Tuesday with matches in Oak Bluffs and Edgartown.

At the Oak Bluffs school, the Tisbury Tigers roared out to a 25-11 win in the first set but the hometown Blazers stormed back and took the final three sets 25-14, 25-21, and 25-20 to earn the victory.

In Edgartown, the West Tisbury Hawks won the battle of the birds three sets to one over the Eagles. The second set was the most dramatic as Emily Turney won ten straight points on serve to rally to Hawks to a 25-23 comeback win.
