The annual ‘Round the Island Race, organized by the Edgartown Yacht Club (EYC), gets underway at 8 am on Saturday, July 28.

The 52.25-nautical-mile race has been held each year, except during World War II, since 1938.

This year’s event will be preceded by a day of fleet racing, the Big Boat Buoy races, which begin at 10 am on Friday.
