Pig out for West Tisbury fifth graders
The West Tisbury School fifth graders are raising money for their class trip on the Shenandoah by hosting a pig and chicken roast this Saturday, Oct. 20. From 1:30 to 4:30 pm at Runamok Farm, located at 400 Lambert’s Cove Road in West Tisbury, enjoy food, live music, games, a raffle, and silent auction. BYO beverages, plates and utensils, and a side to share. Admission is $15; $40 for families.
Fossil fun
National Fossil Day is this Thursday, Oct. 18, and everyone is invited to the Oak Bluffs Library to celebrate. Bring fossils to show to others, view a display with fossils from the M.V. Museum, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, Galadriel’s, and private collections, and discuss them with experts. Drop in to the all-ages event from 4 to 7:45 pm. Harvest time
This Saturday, Oct. 20, Vineyard Gardens in West Tisbury celebrates its annual Harvest Festival from 11 am to 3 pm. Take a garden tour, enjoy hot dogs, chili, cornbread, and caramel apples, and bring the kids for activities. Locally grown pumpkins will be for sale. Admission is free.
