Poets Corner: High Tide

High Tide

Washed ashore

by heaving sea

and high tide

onto fine white sand

a struggle

unseen through

entangling vines

and green-filtered sun

sounds only

of crashing waves

onto beach and rocks

unable to move

from drying sun

of extinction

with receding water
