The U-12B soccer team hosted Barnstable on a blustery fall day at the Park & Ride field, in Vineyard Haven. The home team chose to play against the wind in the first half and went in at half time two up, following goals from Fynn Monahan (8m) and Morgan Estrella (13m).

After the break, playing with the wind, the Vineyard struck quickly, with goals from Morgan Estrella (31m), his second, and Ben Taylor (32m), to make it 4-0.

Barnstable defended vigorously, but the home team increased the lead with three goals in three minutes (45m, 47m, 48m) from Joshua Sampaio, Nico DePaula, and Joshua Dix, to make it 7-0.

Barnstable pressed and finally found the back of the net a minute later (53m). Joshua Dix completed his brace to end the game 8-1 to the Vineyard.

The MV United U-12B improved their record to 11-0. They play Mariner away next Saturday in their final game of the 2013 fall Cranberry season.
