Joyce P. L’Heureux of Oak Bluffs, died on Sunday, May 11, at Windemere Nursing Home, surrounded by her family. She was 93.
She was born in Perth, Western Australia, to Constance and Charles Horrocks. She was the wife of the late Henry B. L’Heureux of Bristol, Conn., and the mother of Charles L’Heureux of Hawaii, Michele Leonardi of Chilmark, Paul L’Heureux of Los Angeles, Calif., Jacqueline (Jon) Wilson of New Haven, Conn., Neil L’Heureux of Bellingham, and Diane (Eric) Hvalso of Seattle, Wash. She is also survived by grandchildren Joshua (Heather) Kochin, Gina (Davis) Solon, Alex (Amelia) Leonardi, Alexander Wilson, Eva Wilson, Amrit L’Heureux, and Dharma L’Heureux,and five grandchildren.
She was a Registered Nurse who trained at the Royal Perth Hospital. She married and moved to Bristol, Connecticut. Joyce was active as a volunteer for the Red Cross and St. Gregory’s Parish Adult Day Care.
Joyce’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the loving care provided by the staff of Windemere Nursing Home for many years.
