The second annual Gay Head 10K road race, to benefit the Save the Gay Head Lighthouse “Keep on Shining” campaign to relocate the precariously perched beacon of Aquinnah, begins at 10 am, Sunday, Oct. 5. The roughly six mile loop will begin at the Gay Head Cliffs, head east on State Road, then loop back to the cliffs via Moshup’s Trail.
In last year’s inaugural race, Conor Welch of Allston placed first among 189 runners. Registration is $30 and is still open at gayheadlight.org.
