Big Brothers Big Sisters of Martha’s Vineyard hosted the M.V. Big Golf Fore Kids tournament on Sunday at Mink Meadows Golf Club. The beautiful weather contributed to the fantastic spirit of the day as 48 golfers took to the course following coffee and breakfast provided by the Black Dog Cafe. Winners this year, and recipients of the Howard W. Leonard memorial trophy, were the team of Jim Brennan, Peter Graves, Scott Merritt and Zak Danz, who finished with a score of 61.25. Close behind was the second place team of David Finkelstein, Elliott Kronstein, Abby Burt, and Molly Finkelstein with a score of 61.87 The third-place team finished excruciatingly close with Kaitlyn Marchand, Mason Jeffers, Taber Caron, Ben Tillman, and Lizzy Williamson closing the day with a near identical score of 61.90, just three tenths of a point away from second place. Winners for closest to the pin were Mason Jeffers and Lenny Vanderhoop.
Big Brothers Big Sisters depends on the generosity of others and once again this outstanding community pitched in for a memorable event.
