Adult and Community Education of MV (ACE MV) will be collaborating with the Yoga Barn in West Tisbury once again to offer a nine-weekend, 200-hour intensive and comprehensive yoga teacher training, starting this Friday, Oct. 17, and finishing on May 17, 2015. Past graduates have shared their skills in a variety of settings including schools (West Tisbury School, Special Needs classes, Technology and Art class); the Wampanoag Tribe; the M.V. Hospital; with Hospice clients and people with disabilities, diabetes and other health issues; prisons, elderly and other special populations. The course also offers optional college credit from Fitchburg State University (three graduate or undergraduate credits for the fall semester). The certificate course will be led by the former director of Kripalu Yoga Teacher Training, Martha Abbott, E-RYT 500, experienced Kripalu yoga instructor Scarlet Jarrell, RYT 200, with Lynn Ditchfield, MA, Ed.M guiding students seeking undergraduate and graduate college credit. Island educators can apply for a reduced rate.
