Take A Seat, a new used furniture store, opened its doors this month in Oak Bluffs. According to a press release, the partners — Lucy Abbot and brother-in-law Phil Cordella — believe the store fills a void on the Island. A cross between a retail furniture store and a thrift shop, Take A Seat offers reasonably priced dressers, tables, chairs, and more. The store also buys furniture that is still functional and in good condition.

“We try to pay picker prices,” Mr. Cordella said. “We want to buy low so we can sell low. We think this makes sense.”

Feiner Real Estate has also taken up a second location at the store, adding a down-Island office to its Beach Plum Lane digs in Menemsha.

Take A Seat and Feiner Real Estate are open every day except Tuesday, 1–5 pm. They are located at 112 Dukes County Ave., across from Tony’s Market in Oak Bluffs. Contact mvtakeaseat@gmail.com or call: 774-563-9399 for more information. Or just stop by and say hi.
