Sam Hart, the executive director of Adult and Community Education of Martha’s Vineyard (ACE MV), recently announced the launch of the nonprofit’s first-ever annual appeal for donations.
“The Island town governments and the residents of Martha’s Vineyard have very generously granted us $90,000 to cover the ACE administration costs,” Mr. Hart wrote in a press release. “Now it is imperative that we also raise the funding we need to continue to offer the courses that Islanders have told us they want and need.”
ACE MV offers courses that prepare Islanders for career advancement as well as enrichment classes that enhance the quality of life on the Island. The organization is focusing its attention on providing a number of health care, information technology, and landscaping certificate courses that are presently only available off island.
The annual appeal campaign aims to collect $45,000 in donations large and small, as well as through grants and corporation underwriting.
