To the Editor:
I saw the movie Selma today, and found it to be incredibly moving and inspirational. Having lived through that era as a high school student, it was fascinating to relive it on the screen. It is one of those few movies that I want to urge my children, grandchildren, and friends to see.
I was thrilled to learn that MVRHS students will have the opportunity to view this film for free this Saturday at the Martha’s Vineyard Film Center. The Film Center bills this as a Valentine’s gift to Island youth. I urge all students to attend. Seeing this movie is like watching history come alive. Thank you, Martha’s Vineyard Film Center, for providing this wonderful opportunity to our Island youth.
