Friends of mvyradio, the nonprofit organization of the listener-supported radio station at 88.7 FM, announced a contribution by Offshore Ale Co. in Oak Bluffs. Phil McAndrews, co-owner of Offshore Ale Co., presented a check in the amount of $2,160 to Friends of mvyradio Greg Orcutt from the restaurant’s “Pints for a Purpose” program, which commits a percentage of its beer sales to support local organizations.
In addition, Friends of mvyradio raised nearly $500 from its “Dine to Donate” event at Offshore Ale Co. on Jan. 8, where 20% of all food sales were donated to the nonprofit. Mvyradio and Offshore Ale Co. will continue to work together to raise funds and awareness for the local public radio station.
