To the Editor:
The former Oak Bluffs Council on Aging (OBCOA) quilters are still meeting regularly, and welcome anyone who would like to join us.
We meet Mondays from 1 to 3 pm at my home at 80 Pondview Drive in Oak Bluffs. Our name is now “Quilting with Glenna,” and as always, we have been working on raffle quilts to help the homeless, the environment, the Red Stocking Fund, the weekly suppers at Island churches, etc.
We have been making quilts since 1997, and are happy to say we have raised over $37,000 so far.
We welcome women and men from all the Island towns; anyone can help, no matter your skill level. Last summer, when the “snowbirds” returned, we of course needed a bigger place as our numbers increased to 16 or 18 women in the summer. Father Nagle of Good Shepherd Parish in Oak Bluffs invited us to use his Parish House on Pacific Avenue.
Thank you. Please join us. For directions, call 508-693-8586.
