To the Editor:
For well over a year I have tried, without success, to enter the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital Center for Pain Medicine. Care should not be this hard to access at Martha’s Vineyard Hospital.
Three times I sought referral through my primary care physician. Nothing came of it.
I left a message on the Pain Center’s phone. No call back. I stopped the center’s manager in the hospital hallway and told her my story (surgical accident at Brigham whacked off too much left leg, causing chronic pain). She made a lot of sympathetic noises and took my telephone number, but failed to follow up.
This is beyond rudeness. This is beyond arrogance. This is bad medical practice.
