The regional high school varsity girls lacrosse team traveled to Norton Tuesday afternoon and took care of business against a very new Norton squad, 23-2. The strong Vineyarders scored frequently through great passing and teamwork. Every team member, excluding goalie Sam Hargy, had a hand in at least one of the goals. High scorers were Lee Hayman with five goals and two assists, and Erin Hill with five goals. Aubrey Ashmun was the leading assist player, with one goal and four assists, along with Amanda Bernard, who had one goal and three assists. Sara Poggi also had three assists. Belle Dinning scored three goals; Emily deBettencourt did an excellent job controlling the center draw, and coming up with a goal and two key assists, along with Lily Pigott who had one goal and two assists. Emma Caron, Arden Bezahler, Olivia Ogden, Katrina Lakis, and Audrey McCarron all scored a goal in the game. The team hopes to carry its momentum into its game against Bishop Stang at Stang on Thursday, and against Nauset on Saturday at home.
