The second annual Martha’s Vineyard Sound Festival is gearing up to be quite a show. The two-day festival of music, food, and the arts will take place Saturday, July 11, and Sunday, July 12, at Waban Park in Oak Bluffs. Tickets are now on sale for the event, which will feature musical acts ranging from indie, rock, and folk, to reggae and hip-hop, with more on the way.
The lineup for Saturday, July 11, includes Kenyatta Hill of Culture, Dwight & Nicole, Mieka Pauley, Parkington Sisters, Dana Williams, Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish and Nate D’Angelo. The lineup for Sunday, July 12, includes Ryan Montbleau Band, Crooked Coast, Will Dailey, the Lynguistic Civilians, Mike Benjamin Band, Sabrina and the Groovers, and the Chandler Blues Band, with more to be announced.
Festivities for Martha’s Vineyard Sound (MVS) will continue beyond the main event at satellite locations throughout downtown Oak Bluffs. MVS supports local food and business, and attempts to make each event as close to zero-waste as possible.
Proceeds from this year’s festival will once again go to the Island Collaborative. Island Collaborative was created to facilitate collaboration between Island civic organizations, local government, schools, businesses, nonprofits, and individuals, to accomplish projects Islanders want and need. Visit islandcollaborative.org for more information.
Early-bird tickets for the festival are available for $20 per day, or a bundle pass for $35 for both days. Tickets can be purchased at mvsound.brownpapertickets.com. For more information on the Martha’s Vineyard Sound Festival, visit marthasvineyardsound.com.
