To the Editor:
I write this letter to express how blown away I was to drive my ’45 Chevy, Pearl, in the Edgartown Fourth of July parade. It was my first time participating and completing the loop in a float representing my wonderful other half’s restaurant, Lobsterville.
I have been on the Vineyard 44 years. I was in the movie “Jaws” and sailed around the world. I flew my airplane to spot tuna and swordfish. I have three great Island boys. But to see the people on the Fourth like I witnessed Saturday added another notch on my bucket list. I can only hope to do it again. To all the great smiling people along the route and everyone on the Rock — Happy Fourth 2015.
