At approximately 4:40 on Wednesday afternoon, Tisbury first responders were called to the entrance to Midnight Farm on Main Street, where a Connecticut woman on a day trip to the Vineyard with her family was hit by a silver Dodge Caravan that jumped the curb while the driver was parking the vehicle.
Tisbury Fire Chief John Schilling told The Times the victim was conscious and alert when EMTs arrived. She was taken to Martha’s Vineyard Hospital for treatment.
The driver, Rene Blanc, 77, of Oak Bluffs, told police his foot slipped off the brake. He was charged with failure to use care in stopping.
