Bridge notes

At the Edgartown Bridge Club on Oct. 5, eight tables were in play. Finishing in first place in the North-South direction were Dave Donald and Barbara Silk, followed by Anita Persson and Deirdre Ling in second, and Gail Farrish and Warren Morse in third. In the East-West direction, Judy Maynes and Mary Ann Ranalli finished first, followed by Louise Marx and Gerry Averill in second, and Barbara Alleyne and Julia Burgess in third.

At the Martha’s Vineyard Bridge Club in Vineyard Haven on Oct. 6, 11 pairs competed. Finishing in first place overall were Barbara Silk and John O’Keefe, followed by Dave Donald and Michel Riel in second, Miles Jaffe and Barbara Besse in third, and Dotti Arnold and Cheryl O’Neal in fourth.

At the Island Bridge Club in West Tisbury on Oct. 8, three teams competed in a team-of-four event. Finishing in first place was the team including Barbara Besse, Anita Persson, Ken Judson, and John O’Keefe. Also earning masterpoints was the team of Dave Donald, Rich Colter, Gerry Averill, and Caroline Baum.
