To the Editor:
Thank you for promoting the Oak Bluffs community in the effort to build a playground at Niantic Park (Oct. 22, “A community builds a park”).
In the article on the community build, we neglected to credit all the people and businesses who contributed food. Spirit Shack with Chick Stapleton, Net Result, Porto Pizza, Susie Herr, Tony’s Market, and Stop and Shop donated food for the volunteers, as well as Giordano’s, Black Dog, Rocco’s, and Slice of Life.
And we omitted the name of one person in the group photo: Stan Strelecki is in the back row, and volunteered for several shifts.
All in all, it was a very successful project, bringing together multiple generations and varied skill sets in a united effort to complete the project. It was an exhausting, but exhilarating effort.
