To the Editor:
On behalf of the managing partner of VIC MV Hotel, LLC, Bill Booth and myself, may this letter serve as a heartfelt thank you to the Edgartown fire department, chief Peter Shemeth, and the Edgartown police department for assisting us with our chimney fire at Hob Knob earlier this month. It was such a scary situation for all of us.
Their swift, professional response was remarkable and we hope, honestly, that we will never have to call upon them again. However, if we did, we know we are in wonderful hands.
We would also like to thank all the friends and neighbors in our community who called or emailed to see how we were doing and if they could help in any way. It was quite an outpouring and we truly appreciate it.
Our community is safe and sound because of the hard work and dedication of the members of this fire department, we are all very lucky.
