St. Patrick’s Day is next Thursday, but several celebrations on the Vineyard begin this weekend. The Edgartown parade starts on Dock Street at 11:30 am on Saturday, March 12, followed by music, activities, and a Family Dance-a-Rama. The First Baptist Parish House in Vineyard Haven will host its annual corned beef and cabbage dinner at 6 pm. The $12 ticket cost includes a complete meal with corn or soda bread, potatoes, carrots, dessert, and beverages, as well as Irish music. Guests who play a fiddle or fife are encouraged to join in.
