Blues swim to the top of the John Gibson Memorial Hockey League

The Blues ended the 2015-2016 John Gibson Memorial Hockey League season on top of the standings.  The Blues faced off against the Shamrocks in the finals on March 31 and won 5-0.  

Kraig Mundt had three goals and an assist, Derek Avakian had one goal and two assists, Matt Mincone had two assists, Trevor McCarthy had two assists, Jason Schwab had two assists, Pete Sprayregen had one goal, and Max Sherman had one assist. Mike Capen earned the shutout in net for the Blues while Shamrocks goaltender, Dayce Moore, had a busy night.  

The league ran for 26 weeks with the Pirates and Blues tied at the conclusion of regular season play for first place, the Sharks came in third place followed by the Shamrocks. The Shamrocks upset the Pirates 4-1 in the first play-off game while the Blues defeated the Sharks 3-2 in a shoot-out.  In the finals, the Blues defeated the Shamrocks 5-0.
