“In the Giant’s Shadow: Whaling on Martha’s Vineyard” opens at the Martha’s Vineyard Museum on Friday, April 22, with a reception from 4 pm to 6 pm. The exhibit takes an in-depth look at the whaling industry in its heyday, and how it affected individual people on the Island, those who went out to sea as well as those who stayed behind.
